A living tradition that attracts more than 7,000 people to the streets of the village of Evolène every year. The day is filled with entertainment and demonstrations showcasing the unique skills and know-how of mountain communities. The grand Midsummer parade has become a truly unique event, telling the story of traditional work and the life of a community that continues to embrace its cultural heritage to the fullest. On this special day, the entire population gets involved, and traditional costumes fill the village.

Every odd-numbered year, the CIME festival joins this unmissable celebration, bringing together the sounds, faces and costumes of mountain regions from around the world. At the end of the parade, the international groups perform under the Halle des CIME for the grand finale of the celebrations: the Closing Gala and its final farandole, which brings tears to the eyes of the audience year after year.
Programme

10:30 am Evolène Church – Assumption Mass

From 11:30 am – Paragliding demonstration with the Les Bartavelles club. Folklore performances by Arc-En-Ciel d'Evolène and the Alphorn group.

12:00 noon in front of the church square – Concert by the music camp of Echo de la Dent-Blanche and Cécilia d'Ardon.

2:30 pm Rue Centrale, Evolène – Grand parade depicting life in days gone by. Floats, traditional costumes and animals.

5:00 pm Gregorian chants at Evolène Church, followed by folklore entertainment in Rue Centrale after the parade.

Every 20 minutes between 11:30 am and 2:30 pm and between 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm.

Practical information

Admission

Admission to the village costs CHF 10.00. Entry is free for children under 12 and for people wearing traditional Evolène costume.

Food and drink

Evolène's restaurants, the main festival tent on the Place de l'Eglise and the various food stands are ready to delight your taste buds! Remember to stay well hydrated!

Parking and safety

Several car parks are available in the village of Evolène and in Les Haudères.

Please follow the instructions given by the police and security staff regarding parking.
A first-aid post run by the Samaritans is located at Place du Four, next to the church.
