Climbing - Hérémence

Several climbing sectors are available around Hérémence, mainly near the Grande Dixence Dam.

Essertse
Around the Essertse hut, several boulders offer well-equipped beginner routes from 3a to 6a. Some belays are accessible on foot. This sector is ideal for peaceful summer days with children, close to the hut and alpine meadow.

Dixence Region
Walls of Time
This cliff is located near the chapel at the Grande Dixence Dam. One route (8a) is installed in an impressive overhang, torn by a crack facing the dam.

Parking
This small Prasinite cliff is located at the exit of the tunnel leading to the base of the Grande Dixence Dam. With closely spaced protection, easy access, and plenty of space at its base, it's ideal for families and beginner climbers.

Topo Parking

Névé
This cliff, with its astonishing rock, is located at the foot of the Grande Dixence Dam. Easily accessible, its top ropes are relatively long, up to 50 meters. A two-pitch route is equipped in the center. There are 9 routes ranging from 4c to 5c.

Tunnel
This sector offers 3 top ropes of about 25-30 meters, graded 5c-6b, on a beautiful slab. A long 5c-6a route, currently being equipped, offers breathtaking views over the Dixence Lake.

Les Ecoulaies, Cabane
Close to the Ecoulaies hut, this small sector offers a few varied routes ranging from 5a to 6b.

Les Ecoulaies, La Gouille
A second sector, also near the hut, offers 16 top rope routes of varying difficulties, from 4a to 6b.

Climbing in natural sites involves risks. The climber is responsible for themselves and must be able to recognize dangers, including those related to weather, rock quality, and installed equipment. They must be able to ensure their own safety.
