Grand Raid BCVS

Eison/Trogne/Liez

From 21 Aug 2026 to 22 Aug 2026

06:30

The legendary Grand Raid mountain bike race passes through Saint-Martin.

Covering 125 km and 5,000 m of elevation gain, the world-renowned Grand Raid BCVS will pass through Saint-Martin, with landmarks at Eison and the L'A Vieille mountain pasture.

On August 21 and 22, 2026, the world's best mountain bikers will set off from Verbier to tackle the 125 km and more than 5,000 meters of elevation gain to Grimentz, via the legendary Pas de Lona at an altitude of 2,787 meters.

THE RACES

The Grand Raid BCVS offers various races:

  • Verbier - Grimentz 125 km with an elevation gain of 5,025 m, starting at 6:30 a.m.
  • Nendaz - Grimentz 93 km with an elevation gain of 3,944 m, starting at 6:30 a.m.
  • Hérémence - Grimentz 68 km with an elevation gain of 2,996 m, startin at 6:15 a.m.
  • Evolène - Grimentz 37 km with an elevation gain of 1,845 m, starting at 7:30 a.m.
  • Evolène - Grimentz SHORT 54 km (without passing through the Pas de Lona)
  • Team Race (race for teams of 3 people)
  • e-Raid OIKEN (gourmet e-bike ride)

All these riders will have to tackle the very difficult climb up the Pas-de-Lona, the race's unforgiving judge.
Given the technological advances in mountain biking and the popular interest in bikes with pedal assistance, the “e-bike” category is available for all starts.
For young people aged 11 to 14, the Raidy Coop gives them the opportunity to set off on a 15 km course between Vercorin and Grimentz and cross the finish line like the grown-ups. A race for children aged 4 to 10 is also offered in the capital of Valais, with a fun course at Cours Roger Bonvin.
