From Evolène, reach Eison and the commune of St-Martin via Volovron (1760m), traditional passage of the mythical mountain bike race "Le Grand Raid", where there are magnificent traditional mayens with a magnificent view of all the peaks of the upper Val d'Hérens. This 6 km long one-way route climbs 509 m and includes 232 m of ascent. The highest point is at 1765 meters, a little above the mayens of Volovron. To reach Eison from Evolène by this itinerary, count about 2h20 of walking.
Please note that the path passing by the chapel of La Garde is closed. The loop route is therefore not possible at this time.
It is possible to take the bus at St-Martin to go back to Evolène and to do only one part of the loop. It takes about 5 hours to complete this 15 km loop.
