Starting from Evolène, you quickly gain height by following a path in the middle of alpine pastures, with a steady slope. You will then reach the Mayens de la Niva, which marks the beginning of the alpine part of the route. You will then reach the Alpage de l'Etoile by a wide track offering an exceptional panorama of the Dent Blanche. The track will then give way to a downhill path to La Gouille. From there, you will follow a path along the river passing through the hamlets of Satarma, Pramousse and La Monta before arriving in Arolla. During the last part, you will be able to admire the beautiful traditional mayens and the suspended footbridge at La Monta. The duration of the hike is just under six hours.
