Nature – La Dent-Blanche

Guy de Maupassant called it a “monstrueuse coquette” it is difficult to come up with a better description. Wherever you are in the valley, you will always be able to see it. The place itself is full of mysteries. One of these mysteries being its name: legend says that a monk given the task of making a map of the region inadvertently swapped Dent-Blanche and Dent d’Hérens…
An almost perfect gneiss pyramid set at 4,357m above sea level, it is part of the ‘Imperial Crown’ formed by the Weisshorn, Zinalrothorn, Ober Gabelhorn and Cervin.
