Randonnée pédestre
Ferpècle Dam- Glacier Mont Miné
La Forclaz/Ferpècle
ACCESSIBLE ITINERARY, BUT BEWARE OF CONSTRUCTION MACHINERY REMOVING THE LAST STONES.
You can reach the bottom of the Mont Miné glacier (2000m) from Ferpècle (Hôtel du Col d'Hérens) by first taking a small mountain road slightly uphill to the Ferpècle dam (1891m).
Afterwards, a nice, relatively flat footpath is available. This path, which runs alongside a stream that comes directly from the glacier, allows you to admire a wonderful natural environment with the Dent-Blanche in the foreground.
The walk takes about 45 minutes from Ferpècle and about 25 minutes from the Ferpècle dam. The return journey is by the same route. You can also start the walk directly from the dam to reduce the time.
